OH MY GIRL’s YooA is embarking on a new challenge once again. After leading the team in performance and concept for a long time, she is now taking her first steps as an actress. 

On June 2nd, it was announced that she has signed an exclusIVE contract with People Entertainment, expanding her scope of activities.

Through an official press release, People Entertainment stated, “We have signed an exclusIVE contract with YooA,” and expressed their joy in starting YooA’s acting career, saying, “We will support her in various activities in all directions.” 

Having showcased dIVErse charms on numerous stages as a singer, YooA will now unfold a new spectrum of emotions through acting.

Debuting with OH MY GIRL in 2015, YooA played a crucial role in establishing the group’s identity with hit songs like ‘Secret Garden,’ ‘Remember Me,’ ‘Dolphin,’ and ‘Nonstop.’ 

Her solo activities have also garnered attention. Her 2020 release ‘Bon Voyage’ receIVEd high praise for its fairytale-like concept and emotional music, followed by ‘SELFISH’ and ‘Borderline,’ expanding her own musical color consistently.

Now, she is taking her first steps as an actress in the movie ‘Project Y (working title).’ 

The character Miseon, played by YooA, seeks an escape from the harsh reality, raising expectations for YooA’s new side. 

The emotional lines, narratIVE, and new energy she will unfold on the screen are already gathering anticipation from fans and industry professionals.

YooA also shared a handwritten letter through her SNS, conveying the background and determination of her acting challenge. 

In the statement, “My roots are with OH MY GIRL,” her affection for the team and determination to balance acting activities with group activities were evident. 

Having displayed her own emotional language in her solo activities, she is now expected to continue that expressIVEness in dialogues and scenes.

People Entertainment, known for its stable lineup of actors such as Jo Jin Woong, Gong Myung, Lee Yeon Hee, and Park Gyu Young, seems well-equipped to solidify YooA’s acting foundation.
