Gordon, portrayed by Byron Mann, is a strategic planner who uses all means to benefit the investment firm, leading a project to acquire Korea’s leading soju company, Gukbo Group, alongside Choi In-beom, played by Lee Je-hoon. Gordon, who spares no selfish choices, becomes a key figure in intensifying the conflicts within the film, enhancing the immersion of the story with Byron Mann’s characteristic calm yet tense acting. He expressed pride in his performance, evaluating his current character as more glamorous and complex than the one he played in ‘The Big Short.’ ‘The Soju War’ depicts Korean companies fighting against the threat of global capital during the 1997 IMF financial crisis. Yoo Hae-jin portrays Pyo Jong-rok, a dedicated financial officer struggling to protect a company he has devoted his life to, engaging in a fierce acting showdown with Lee Je-hoon’s ruthless global investment firm employee, Choi In-beom.
