Cha Eun-woo’s VR concert, “Memorize,” goes beyond the traditional concert format, offering an interactIVE experiential performance where the audience can lead the direction and emotional flow of the story. This concert, produced by the VR content specialist company Amaze, incorporates cutting-edge technology. With 12K ultra-high-definition lIVE-action filming, AI-based video post-processing, and VFX technology using Unreal Engine, it maximizes visual reality and provides a new experience each time through a real-time interactIVE system. “Memorize” unfolds around a romance fantasy concept encompassing various emotions of love from excitement to farewell. Audience members can choose memories of places, objects, or scenes to determine the narratIVE of the concert, affecting Cha Eun-woo’s visuals and emotional acting. Positioned at the center of the narratIVE co-created with the audience, Cha Eun-woo reveals deep emotional lines in a dreamy atmosphere, stating, “I’ll leave it to your choice, our ending.” This VR concert will premiere in a total of 21 cities, including Korea, with ticket sales starting on May 30. Building on his career as a singer and actor, Cha Eun-woo presents a new form of artist-fan relationship through this project. Celebrating ASTRO’s 9th debut annIVErsary in February, he released the single “Twilight” and recently showcased a strong presence as an actor in the dramas “True Beauty” and “Island.” This VR concert, establishing itself as a new form of performance and content, also holds the potential to be another turning point in the future of performance culture.
