The prosecution sentenced Kim Tae-i, a cast member of ‘Love Scene 2’ who was charged with drunk driving, to 2 years in prison. On the 12th, the prosecution requested a 2-year prison sentence for Kim Tae-i in the first trial on charges of violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Specific Crimes (dangerous driving causing injury) at the trial presided over by Judge Jung Jae-yong at the Seoul Central District Court Criminal Division 21.
Kim Tae-i’s friend, Mr. Moon, who was charged with making false statements that he was driving instead of Kim Tae-i, was fined 5 million won. In response, Kim Tae-i’s lawyer claimed, “He committed the offense by not being able to resist the demands of the parking attendant and moving the vehicle to the side while waiting for a designated driver,” and expressed deep regret.
Furthermore, the lawyer argued, “He handed the vehicle over to a friend to prevent a repeat offense and actively assisted the victim immediately after the accident. Considering his efforts to prepare compensation, we request leniency.” In his final statement, Kim Tae-i said, “If you show leniency, I will make sure that such an incident never happens again as a turning point in my life,” and vowed to live a life of reflection.
Previously, in September last year, Kim Tae-i caused an accident in the Sinsa-dong area of Gangnam, Seoul, while driving under the influence, injuring a pedestrian. Meanwhile, Kim Tae-i appeared as a model and influencer in the 2022 Tving drama ‘Love Scene 2’ and was active as an actor under the management of S Team Entertainment. Currently, he works as a clothing brand designer and a barista.
