IU Donates 200 Million Won to Support Wildfire Victims and Improve Firefighters’ Welfare

Han River Times reporter Baek Jin-a = Singer and actress IU (Lee Ji-eun) has stepped forward to support those affected by wildfires and to show appreciation for the firefighters dedicating themselves on the front lines.

Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association announced on the 26th, “IU has donated a total of 200 million won, 100 million won each, to improve the treatment and recognition of firefighters dedicating themselves to supporting wildfire victims and working at disaster sites.”

IU expressed, “I hope to provide some small help to those who have been affected, and I express deep condolences to the victims,” adding, “I sincerely hope that the wildfires will be extinguished quickly without further loss of life. I deeply appreciate the dedication of the firefighters working hard to contain the fires.”

IU has shown positive influence by participating in various disaster relief efforts, such as assisting flood victims in 2020 and supporting the East Coast wildfires in 2022.

Meanwhile, IU recently received high praise for her immersive acting in the Netflix series ‘Snowdrop,’ where she played the role of the rebellious young woman ‘Aesoon’ and also took on the role of ‘Yang Geum-myeong,’ the daughter of ‘Aesoon’ and ‘Gwansik’ (played by Park Bo-gum and Park Hae-jun), showcasing her versatility by portraying dual roles.
