Singer G-Dragon left his former agency YG Entertainment and signed an exclusIVE contract with Galaxy Corporation, presenting a new model of strategic partnership that goes beyond the existing entertainment industry norms. In November 2023, G-Dragon signed a contract with the company and receIVEd a total of 20 billion KRW as an exclusIVE contract fee, with 10 billion KRW receIVEd in stock options to show his trust in the company’s growth potential. Galaxy Corporation is known as an ‘enter-tech’ company that combines entertainment and technology, focusing on artificial intelligence, metaverse, and global IP expansion. The company’s value, which was around 470 billion KRW at the time, is now expected to rise to over 1 trillion KRW, and preparations for a KOSDAQ listing are underway. If the listing becomes a reality, the value of G-Dragon’s stake could more than double. G-Dragon is establishing himself as a ‘culture icon’ who operates at the intersection of creatIVE content and technology, going beyond the role of a mere entertainer. He is also currently working as a visiting professor in mechanical engineering at KAIST and is actIVEly promoting the establishment of an ‘AI enter-tech research center’ in collaboration with his agency, as well as participating in projects that integrate music and technology. Recently, he introduced a new creatIVE paradigm by experimenting with broadcasting his new song into space and releasing an open AI-based music video. Galaxy Corporation also places great significance on its collaboration with G-Dragon. A company official stated, “We have formed a partnership with G-Dragon, not just a simple contractual relationship.
