Global girl group TWICE to release their 4th full-length album ‘THIS IS FOR’ on July 11th… Set to dominate the summer as headliners at Lollapalooza

After approximately 3 years and 8 months, TWICE is making a comeback with a full-length album.

Their agency JYP Entertainment announced through official SNS on the 19th that TWICE’s 4th full-length album ‘THIS IS FOR’ will be released, unveiling an intense intro film featuring all nine members. The video, centered around the keyword ‘FOUR,’ was shot in a single take, leaving a strong impression on global fans.

‘THIS IS FOR’ will be released on Friday, July 11th at 1 PM. This marks TWICE’s first full-length album in 3 years and 8 months since ‘Formula of Love: O+T=<3’ in November 2021, and it is anticipated to encapsulate the present and hint at the future of TWICE. JYP stated that this album will delve even deeper into TWICE’s musical essence and message.

While the overall concept of the album is still under wraps, the title ‘THIS IS FOR’ is interpreted as a message directed towards TWICE’s beloved fans, including the fandom ONCE. There is growing interest in whether the members were directly involved in the album production, and it is expected that TWICE’s unique harmony and musical authenticity will once again be validated through this album. Teaser contents will be gradually released before the official launch, building up the anticipation.

In particular, alongside the album release, TWICE will also take the stage at a global festival. On August 2nd local time, they will perform as the first K-pop girl group to headline at ‘Lollapalooza Chicago’ held at Grant Park in Illinois, USA. This move is seen as another proof of TWICE’s position and brand power in the global music market.

Prior to this, TWICE has secured high recognition in the North American market through stadium tours, U.S. television appearances, and chart entries on major Billboard charts. Their participation in Lollapalooza is not only a stage to showcase their achievements but also a scene representing the trend of K-pop shifting towards the center of the pop market. With this activity, TWICE has a high potential to lead the summer K-pop market.

Centered around the release of their full-length album and festival appearance, TWICE is emerging as a key player set to dominate the latter half of 2024. As the globalization of K-pop is becoming a structural trend rather than a mere phenomenon, TWICE’s current activities can be seen as a symbolic turning point. The music industry both domestically and internationally is closely watching their next moves.
