The girl group Baby Monster and the group TREASURE recently opened consecutive pop-up stores in various locations in Shanghai, China, to target the ‘mainland fans,’ according to their agency YG Entertainment on the 15th.
Baby Monster has been operating a pop-up store themed around their 1st full album ‘DRIP’ in Shanghai since the 9th and in Suzhou since the 10th.
YG stated, “This pop-up store was located in the central lobby of a large shopping mall in the downtown area with a high floating population of people in their 20s to 40s,” and added, “Baby Monster’s photos were wrapped around subway connecting passages, shopping mall entrances, and pop-up floor glass railings, giving a glimpse of their solid presence in the Chinese market.”
At the site, over 100 products including the ‘DRIP’ album, world tour MD (merchandise), 1st-anniversary photobook, photocards, zip-up hoodies, knit hats, and more were sold. Some items were sold out early and restocked for the 2nd and 3rd time.
From the opening weekend, pre-booked visitors and on-site visitors flocked to the store, including parents who made purchases on behalf of their children through video calls and students who visited after school in their school uniforms, YG reported.
TREASURE also recently opened their debut pop-up store in Shanghai and Wuhan. Fans responded by taking photos with heart balloons symbolizing TREASURE’s album ‘PLEASURE.’
YG stated, “We will reach out to fans in various ways, not only through pop-up stores but also through fan meetings and performances.”
