JTBC’s new documentary program ‘Deep Dive Korea: Song Ji Hyo’s Haenyeo Adventure’ will premiere at midnight on the 15th. This program follows actress Song Ji Hyo as she challenges herself with the life of haenyeo in Jeju and forms a bond with them. Co-produced by JTBC and BBC Studios, it is the first collaboration with BBC Studios among domestic broadcasters. In the first episode, Song Ji Hyo arrives in Jeju to take the first steps to become a haenyeo, going through haenyeo interviews, fitting into rubber suits, and making her own diving gear. She also takes classes to learn the diving techniques from the haenyeo. After experiencing the lives and bond of the haenyeo, Song Ji Hyo jumps into the sea. The haenyeo explain their reasons for diving into the sea due to poverty and life’s hardships, leaving Song Ji Hyo deeply moved by their stories. This program consists of a total of 3 episodes, capturing Song Ji Hyo’s challenges, the lives of haenyeo, and various aspects of Song Ji Hyo from different perspectives.
