Singer KCM honestly shared the story of his long-hidden marriage and two daughters.
On the episode of MBC TV entertainment program ‘Radio Star’ aired on the 7th, singer KCM, actors Song Il-gook, Oh Min-ae, and Jung Si-ah appeared as guests for the ‘Parents’ Day Special.’
On that day, KCM explained the reason for revealing his marriage and two daughters late, saying, “My first daughter was born while my eldest was in the military. It was the most difficult time in my life, and I lacked the courage to reveal it.”
He continued, “I was deceived at that time and had a lot of debt. It was the first time I mentioned it, but I even had a red mark on my credit. If I registered my marriage, my debt would become my family’s debt, so I couldn’t do it. I even had extreme thoughts.”
KCM said, “I thought I wouldn’t be able to do anything if I revealed my child at that time,” and added, “Looking back, it was the most foolish thought. Now, I regret that the most.”
He shared, “When I came out on leave from the military, I had 60,000 won. I remember my wife saying she wanted to eat beef, but we didn’t have money, so I had to go out and earn it,” and said, “The memory was so heartbreaking that I want to provide enough food for my family without any shortage.”
He then said, “In fact, I had given up everything before revealing my daughter. I thought I wouldn’t be able to work in the future,” and added, “I decided to reveal it with the thought that even if I couldn’t work, I would dig the ground to feed them.”
Kim Gura asked, “Wasn’t the public reaction not that great when KCM revealed his child?” and KCM replied, “I thought people would assume I was already married and had a child.” The MCs joked, “Perhaps the news of marriage and childbirth was less shocking than the revelation of the belly button tattoo.”
Meanwhile, KCM legally became a couple with a non-celebrity 9 years younger than him through marriage registration in 2021, and the following year, they held a private ceremony with only family and friends in attendance.
