Jiistar’s agency issued a warning following a case of impersonation and fraud by individuals pretending to be Songgain’s managers, as reported by Jiistar. The agency revealed that recently there have been incidents of fraud using the method of ‘proxy purchasing,’ where individuals impersonating their employees as Songgain’s managers would deceive small business owners into providing money. These fraudsters pretended to be Songgain’s managers, claiming they would purchase wine and share the bill during meals, in order to commit fraud. In response, the agency emphasized that their employees do not request money or items from external sources, and advised never to send money or respond if similar requests are made, as there is a high likelihood of criminal activity. Furthermore, the agency stressed the importance of reporting any damages to the police immediately. In contrast, Songgain’s side mentioned that they are currently engaging with fans through the YouTube channel ‘Songgain,’ unrelated to the incident. The impact of such incidents on the K-POP market and the opinions of experts on future prospects have not yet been disclosed.
