‘S-Line’ Music Director Lee Juno, honored with ‘Music Award’ at Cannes Series.

The drama “S-Line” won the ‘Best Music’ award at the closing ceremony of the 8th Cannes International Series Festival held at the Grand Théâtre Lumière in Cannes, France on the evening of the 29th (local time). “S-Line,” which was the only Korean content invited to compete at this year’s Cannes Series, achieved the remarkable feat of winning the main award for the second time in history after winning the screenplay award for “The Price of the Body” in 2023. It is especially meaningful as the first Korean drama to win the ‘Best Music’ award at the Cannes Series. The Cannes Series stated, “The music of ‘S-Line,’ which expressed emotional connections to the story in a new and fresh way, was very intriguing.” Director Ahn Joo-young, who took the stage to receive the music award, expressed his gratitude, saying, “I am grateful for being invited to the prestigious Cannes International Series Festival and for receiving this award. If you love movies and dramas, you would know how meaningful Cannes is. ‘S-Line’ is a work created by all of us. I thank the producers, PDs, actors, and especially music director Lee Joon-oh, who won the music award, and his wonderful music. I will work hard to create more fun and good works in the future.” Lee Joon-oh, the music director of “S-Line,” is a member of the electronic band ‘Casker’ and is active as a music director for movies and dramas. He has elevated the immersion of works with his music that transcends various genres in movies such as “The Terror Live,” “Little Forest,” “PMC: The Bunker,” “Night in Paradise,” and dramas such as “The Deal” and “U-Prince.” Lee Joon-oh, the music director, said, “I consider winning the music award at the Cannes Series a great honor. ‘S-Line’ was created in a free working environment. I am grateful to director Ahn Joo-young and the production company Sidus for entrusting and believing in me. I will share the joy with composer Son Jung, who worked together with me.” The drama “S-Line,” based on the webtoon of the same name by popular webtoon author ‘Kkoma Bi,’ known for the Netflix series “The Uncanny Counter,” is scheduled for domestic release in 2025, showcasing the distinctive creativity of Kkoma Bi, who constructs unique worldviews for each work and delves into themes that penetrate the essence of humanity.
