Girl group IVE’s Ahn Yujin once again fills the living room theater with laughter.
Today (25th), Ahn Yujin will appear on the first broadcast of the tvN variety show ‘Ping Pong Game Room 3’ (‘Game Room 3’).
‘Game Room 3’ is a new concept hybrid multi-verse action adventure variety show where four heroes travel through space and time to catch the rabbit that escaped to Earth. Ahn Yujin transforms into a secret agent named ‘Ahn Yumyeong,’ who tracks down the bouncing rabbit with a corporate card of the Jade Emperor, along with Lee Eunji, Mimi, and Lee Youngji.
Prior to this, Ahn Yujin rose to fame as a ‘variety show blue chip’ through ‘Game Room 1’ and ‘Game Room 2’ in no time. She established a fresh variety character called ‘Bright-eyed Monk’ with mysterious twinkling eyes and even earned the nickname ‘Na Yujin,’ being the daughter of Na Youngseok PD and showcasing fantastic chemistry with him.
In ‘Game Room 1,’ she caused a big laugh by correcting Na PD, who got confused between ‘Aljalddakkkalsen’ and ‘Aljalkkaldaksen’ during a trendy quiz, and in ‘Game Room 2,’ she created a meme by firmly stating, “I’m not Ahn Yujin! Yujin Ahn…? Yujin! Not Ahn Yujin!” when referred to as ‘Ahn Yujin.’
With each season gathering attention and building a solid fan base, anticipation for the upcoming season is high as teaser and highlight videos have been released, building excitement for the first broadcast.
In the videos, Ahn Yujin alternates between her idol self and her variety show persona, creating laughter. When Lee Eunji smells flowers and starts a melodramatic scene by saying, “There’s poison here,” Ahn Yujin responds with exaggerated expressions, unafraid to make a fool of herself.
Leading up to the premiere of ‘Game Room 3,’ Ahn Yujin expressed her gratitude through her agency Starship Entertainment, saying, “It’s an honor to be able to be part of ‘Game Room’ once again. Thanks to the unnies and the production team, I had a fun time filming. I hope Dive (official fan club) and viewers enjoy watching it. Please show us lots of love and interest.”
Ahn Yujin has been recognized for her activities in variety shows, winning the ‘U+ Why Not’ award at the 3rd Chungryong Series Awards and the Popularity Award at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards. Additionally, she won the ‘Female Variety Entertainer of the Year’ at the ‘Brand of the Year Awards’ for two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024, solidifying her position as a representative ‘variety entertainer’ in the music industry.
She also continues to focus on her main profession, music. Ahn Yujin achieved a ‘Perfect All-Kill’ on major domestic music charts with the pre-release track ‘Rebel Heart’ from IVE’s third mini-album ‘IVE Empathy’ released in February, and she achieved a total of 15 wins on music shows with ‘Rebel Heart’ (11 wins) and the title track ‘Attitude’ (4 wins).
On the 13th, she participated in her first drama OST singing with ‘Sunny Day,’ the second part of the OST for the tvN drama ‘One Day, the Joyful Life of a Medical Student,’ showcasing her versatility. With her exceptional skills in her main profession and her comedic talent in variety shows, Ahn Yujin has established herself as a rising star with unwavering confidence.
