Lee Seung Gi, Portrait Rights Violated… Agency Taking Legal Action Against Illegal Advertisements

Singer and actor Lee Seung Gi has suffered damages from unauthorized use of his photos on an internet investment site. His agency has taken legal action and urged the public to be especially cautious.

Lee Seung Gi’s agency, Hook Entertainment, stated on the 15th, “We have confirmed that the portrait rights of our artist Lee Seung Gi were illegally used on an internet investment site recently,” and revealed, “The site is using photos as if Lee Seung Gi is a model, falsely advertising ‘recommended by acquaintances,’ ‘recruiting investors,’ and other statements.”

The agency immediately sent a notice to the operator of the site and stated that they are proceeding with legal procedures, including civil and criminal complaints.

Furthermore, they emphasized, “Lee Seung Gi has no relation to the company in question,” and warned, “Do not be deceived by investment solicitations through portrait rights violations, and be cautious of similar cases.”

This incident serves as an example of celebrities’ images being used for commercial purposes without permission, highlighting the ongoing issue, and underscores the need for vigilance against similar cases in the future.
